Yesterday marked an exciting new chapter as we officially opened the doors to The Pop In Community Café.

The Pop In Cafe is much more than a café. It is a community social enterprise built on the belief that everyone deserves opportunities to belong, contribute and thrive.
The Pop In has been designed as a welcoming, inclusive space where people can enjoy quality homemade food and drinks while knowing that every purchase is helping to make a difference in the local community.
Our vision is simple: to create a café where people come together, friendships are formed, confidence grows and opportunities are created.
So whether you're dropping in for breakfast, lunch, coffee and cake, or simply somewhere to meet friends, you'll always receive a warm welcome.
As a social enterprise, The Pop In Cafe exists for a purpose beyond profit.
Every penny generated is reinvested into creating training, volunteering and employment opportunities, particularly for autistic and neurodivergent people and others who face barriers to education and work.
We believe that everyone has strengths to offer when given the right support and environment.
The café also provides a pathway to develop practical skills, build confidence and gain real work experience. From customer service and hospitality to food preparation and teamwork, The Pop In is helping people develop the knowledge, skills and experience needed to move towards greater independence and future employment.
The name Pop In pays tribute to the much-loved Pop In Records store that was once part of Antrims Town Centre. We wanted to honour that sense of community and nostalgia while creating something new for future generations.
The café has been designed as a vibrant, welcoming space that reflects creativity, inclusion and community spirit, making it somewhere everyone can feel comfortable spending time.
Our menu features freshly prepared breakfasts, homemade soups, sausage rolls, toasties, paninis, sandwiches, traybakes, speciality coffees, teas, milkshakes and much more, with plans to continue expanding our offer as the café grows.
The official opening was a wonderful celebration, attended by supporters, families, volunteers, partners and members of our local community. We were delighted that the café was officially opened by Shannon O'Neill, Director of The Pop In Community Café, alongside Stephen Gamble, Good Relations Officer at NIHE, recognising the positive impact that inclusive community spaces can have in bringing people together.
This is only the beginning. Over the coming months The Pop In will continue to grow, creating more employment opportunities, expanding community activities, hosting events and becoming a place where everyone, regardless of background or ability, can feel welcome.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported us on this journey. Whether you've volunteered your time, donated, encouraged us, or simply popped in for a coffee, you've helped make this vision a reality.
We can't wait to welcome you through our doors.
