We’re thrilled to announce that All About Us has been honored with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2024—the highest accolade for local volunteer groups in the UK and equivalent to an MBE! This prestigious award is a wonderful recognition of the dedication and passion of our volunteers, who work tirelessly to create a safe, supportive environment for young people with autism and their families.
In 2018, Christina O'Neill founded All About Us - ASD Teens, recognizing the need for a local network where families could connect, share information, and support each other. Since then, we’ve grown steadily, building a strong community through regular meet-ups, events, and the friendships that form along the way. Thanks to the unwavering commitment of our volunteers, members, and the wider community, All About Us continues to thrive, expanding our reach and making a lasting, positive impact on countless families in Antrim and beyond.
We’re incredibly proud to be one of only 281 local charities, social enterprises, and volunteer groups in the UK to receive this honor in 2024. This award not only highlights the incredible work of our team but also shines a light on the many ways volunteers across the UK are improving lives within their communities. From supporting mental health initiatives for veterans and their families to teaching English to refugees and preserving historic sites, each group recognized this year reflects the strength and kindness within our communities.
Representatives of All About Us will receive an award crystal and certificate from David McCorkell, Lord-Lieutenant of County Antrim, later this summer. We’re also excited to share that two of our volunteers will have the special honor of attending a garden party at Buckingham Palace in May and June 2025, joining other recipients in celebration.
