All About Us - ASD Teens and Antrim & Newtownabbey PSNI Neighbourhood Team have been working together to enhance the understanding of autism spectrum disorder and introduce ways to support both the community and PSNI officers with first contact.
On Monday 20 March, All About Us - ASD Teens launched the project at Unit 4 Greystone Shopping centre in Antrim.
All About Us - ASD Teens are going to deliver an educational programme to Response officers, Neighbourhood officers and Custody staff in Antrim and Newtownabbey.
This programme highlights the varying conditions on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism, aspergers, ADHD etc) and provides guidance for first responders when they encounter members of the public within the Neurodiversity groups.
This newly developed educational programme designed in collaboration with the PSNI community team to support the vulnerable and enhance community engagements and partnerships.
Everyone at All About Us would like to thank our local MLA's, Councillors, Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Housing Executive, members of the PSNI, the other charity organisations, friends, family and all our volunteers who attended and assisted with making the launch of this programme possible.
